Stalemate at Brandon Park
Monday, 18 May 2009
In a very poor game Southern Suburbs put in their worst performance for the season drawing 0-0 with Brandon Park. Despite top billing as a "top of the table" clash it was a game that both teams would prefer to forget with very few genuine chances created.
The best chance of the game fell to Brandon Park in the second half with South keeper Bill Vasiliopoulos making an excellent save. Unfortunately for SS they lost a couple of players through injury during the game however the team will be looking forward to putting that performnace behind them when they face Waverley Wanderers at home this week. Like Southern Suburbs, Waverley is also the only other team undefeated at this stage.
The Reserves lost 4-1 despite making a very good start and taking the lead they then conceeded 4 goals in 15 minutes late in the first half half. Steve Patsias scored the only goal for SS in his first game back for 6 weeks.
